TeX FoG

by Marco Coïsson

What is it?

TeX FoG (that stands for TeX Formula Graphic user interface) is a tool that helps TeX and LaTeX users type equations without the need to remember all the commands. Here's how it looks like:

Requirements

TeX FoG requires a working TeX or LaTeX installation. A good starting point is Mac TeX. An editor like TeX Shop may also be useful. Additional tools like Equation Service and LaTeX-it are not required but may also be useful. Please note that all these products (including any TeX or LaTeX distribution) do not belong to me and I cannot support them. Please refer to their web sites for instructions on how to install and use them.

How does it work?

The idea is simple: just locate the symbols that describe what you need to put in your equation, click on them, and complete the command in the text field, like in the following example:

Then you have multiple choices available:

Download

You can download TeX FoG as a zipped archive. Version 1.3 and later require MacOS X 10.4 or later and support both PowerPC and Intel processors. Version 1.2.4 is still available for download for those who use MacOS X 10.3.

License

TeX FoG is distributed under the GNU General Public License.

Thank you for using TeX FoG!
