For example, On Internet Information Service (IIS) manager, open the SMTP Virtual Server Properties page. Select the Delivery tab and click on Advanced... (Use an IP address instead of a domain name on Smart Host can improve the speed of mail transaction.) Brackets “[]” are used to enclose the IP string. Depending on the situation, you may also use the IP address of an external mail server.

A certificate is required for SSL configurations. You may purchase a certificate or create your own. Ask your corporate IT department to evaluate.
For Reference Only:
You may create a certificate using a Windows 2000 CA server in the company.

Following is an example for setting a Stand-Along Root CA server.
Steps
Create a CA Server. Go to the Windowed Components Wizard page. Select the type Stand-Alone Root CA to install. A website named http://YourServerNamt/certsrv/ will be created. Now you have a CA server.

When ready, visit http://YourServerName/certsrv/ and follow these steps:
Select Request a Certificate

To verify that your SSL configuration was successful, on the Default Web Site property page, select the Web Site tab to browse the SSL Port data. The following is an example of a successful configuration.
