FAQs
Q: If your pictures are not fully recovered (lines, chopped images, squares, error drawing, preview but no full image, etc.)
A: This may indicate that your media has been used for a long time and not been formatted or wiped. Because data is laid out one sector at a time, old data may come up in the recovery process. This will cause corruption of your recovered image(s). See and example this on the Preview screen.
Q: No images found and no read errors.
A: Your media may have been written over from a camera, computer, card reader or from shock/static electricity. Some cameras write over data during a delete/format. You can find this out by testing your particular camera. Take some pictures, delete/format the card and then run the MediaRECOVER software.
Q: Large amount of card read errors.
A: Your media is most likely corrupted. Run the Format Option first. If the Format Option is successful then you can try the Recovery Option. If the Recovery Option is unsuccessful then your data cannot be recovered.
To use the card again use the Wipe Option and then the Format Option. You may also format the media in a camera or computer. You may also send the card into us for the Flashcardfix service. We will discount the service price by the cost of the software. More information can be found at http://www.flashcardfix.com.
