1. Software and Hardware Requirements

If you want to use full function of Easy Keyboard, make sure prepare correct Operating system and available H/W described here.  

    A. Software

Available Operating System :

Microsoft Windows 98 SE

Microsoft Windows ME

Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation / Server

Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional / Server / Advanced Server

 

    B. Hardware

      nFren Multimedia Easy Keyboard

Pentium compatible computer

Sound Card

CD-ROM

Minimum 5 MB of hard disk space  

 

2. Installation of EasyKey program

 

2.1 Windows 98 SE / ME

 

Case 1 . Automatic installation

a.      Insert Easykey CD into CD-ROM Drive.

b.      EasyKey software will be installed automatically.  

         

 

Case 2 . Manual installation

a. Open 'Win9x' folder in the EasyKey CD and double click 'Setup.exe'.  

        

 

c. EasyKey software will be installed on your computer.  

          

 

 

2.2 Windows NT 4.0 –Workstation/Server

a.      Click 'START' menu.

b.      Click 'Setting' menu.

c.      Open 'Control Panel'.

d.      Double Click 'Keyboard'.  

       

e.      Click 'General' tab.

f.         Click 'Change' button.  

    

g.      Click 'Have Disk...' button then 'Install from disk' dialog will emerge. Click 'browse' button.  

      

h.      Select EasyKey CD-ROM in the disk folder, and select 'nFrenKbd_NT.inf' file.

 Example) X:\nFrenKbd_NT.inf (' X: ' is CD-ROM drive)

       i.  Select 'nFren Multimedia Easy Keyboard [Windows NT4.0]' and press 'OK' botton.  

      

  j.         Restart your system then EasyKey software will be installed automatically.

 

 

 

2.3 Windows 2000 – Professional/Server/Advanced Server

       a.     Click 'Start' button

b.      Click 'Setting' menu.

c.      Open 'Control Panel'.

d.      Double click 'Keyboard'.  

      

e.      Click 'Hardware' tab.

f.         Click 'Properties' button.  

g.      Click 'Driver' tab.

h.      Click 'Upgrade Driver...' button, then 'Upgrade Device Driver Wizard' dialog. Click 'Next' button.  

 

i.         Select 'Display a list of the known drivers for this device', and click 'Next' button.  

j.         Click 'Have Disk....' button then 'Install from disk' dialog will be appear. Click 'Browser' button.

k.       Select EasyKey CD-ROM in the Disk folder, and select 'nFrenKbd_2K.inf'.

Example) X:\nFrenKbd_2k.inf (' X: ' is CD-ROM drive)

l.         Select 'nFren Multimedia Easy Keyboard [Windows 2000]' and press 'OK' button.  

       

       m.     Click 'Next' button.  

           

   

       n.      Restart your system then EasyKey software will be installed automatically.

 

 

 

3. How to Use EasyKey

 

After Installation, EasyKey program operates automatically. You can find small keyboard icon on system tray bar located at right-bottom side of your screen. Move your mouse pointer to keyboard icon and click right button. Popup menu will emerge. If you want to close EasyKey program, click 'EXIT'. EasyKey program will stop its operation.

Each EasyKey function is defined below.  

1. Mute

 Sound On/Off.

 

2. Volume -

 Decrease system volume.

 

3. Volume +     

  Increase system volume.

 

4. Play/Pause

'Media player' play/pause button.

 

5. Stop

'Media player' stop button.

 

6. Media player

 Launch Microsoft 'Media player'.

 

7. Back

    'WWW Back' button.

 

8. Forward

    'WWW Forward' button.

 

9. Favorites

    'WWW Favorites' button.

 

10. Internet

    'WWW Home' button.

 

11. E-mail

    Run default e-mail program.

 

12. Search

    'WWW Search' button.
